LETHBRIDGE- Charges have been laid in a vandalism case, in which 37 vehicles and other property were spray painted during two vandalism sprees in early August.

During the early morning hours of August 16th numerous vehicles and other property around the Uplands subdivision were vandalized with orange paint. Then August 21st more vehicles between 12th and 25th Avenue and 19th and 27th Street North were hit with lime green paint.

18-year old Katheryn Lynn Matheson and a 17-year old girl who can't be named, face charges of mischief under $5,000 and will both appear in court September 29th.

LETHBRIDGE: Both west-bound lanes of Highway 3 were closed for about seven hours Saturday (May 30) morning, as Emergency Responders and RCMP were investigating a collision which claimed the life of a pedestrian.

Constable Stirling John says RCMP were called to the scene near Broxburn Road, at about 4:00am, where a pick-up truck struck a male who was walking in the shoulder of the road.

The name of the deceased has not been released, and the collision is still under investigation.

Regional Police were called to a home in the 400-block of 12 street "c" north, to find both men, in the home.  Further investigation found they were in possession of  property stolen from another residence nearby.

33-year old Guy William Stewart and 30-year old Jonathon William Cohen are each charged with 2-counts of break and enter and theft.  They are also both facing a charge of possession of stolen property under $5000. Cohen is also wanted on a Canada-wide warrant of parole revocation, stemming from his recent jail release for similar property crimes.

Both are in court this week as police continue to investigate, to determine if the pair are responsible for other similar crimes.

LETHBRIDGE- A 34-year old city man is facing 6-charges, following several incidents that began about 3:40 Tuesday afternoon.

The man left the Magrath Lounge without paying his bill, then ran to a friends home in the 400-block of 25th street south, where he wasn't allowed into the home. So, he broke-in through a kitchen window.

At that point there was a confrontation with items being thrown. When the culprit finally left the home, he swung at the home owner with a metal crutch and threatened occupants of the home.

Police arrived and arrested Cam Selman on the front lawn.

He's charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, making threats, break and enter, assault, and fraudulently obtaining food and beverage.
